Nicholas Anthony Porter (born 20 October 1969) is Founder and Executive Chairman of Global Student Accommodation. Porter was born in Bristol, UK. He attended Clifton College, Bristol, and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. Porter founded The UNITE Group in 1991. UNITE was the pioneer of the student accommodation sector and as CEO Nick grew UNITE Group into both a FTSE 250 company, abuilding and operating 40,000 student rooms across 35 university markets in the UK. Porter stepped down as CEO of UNITE in 2006, but stayed on as non-executive deputy chairman until 2009.
